Are the courses approved by my insurance provider?

YES! Turbine Training Center, Inc. initial and recurrent training courses are approved by all major underwriters.

What level are your simulators?

Our simulators are, FAA APPROVED for "Training, testing, and checking" pilots and crew under Part 60 for PPL, CPL, ATP. They are non-convertible and aircraft-specific.

FAA refers to these modern technology simulators as "Advanced Aircraft Training Devices" (AATD). Their capabilities go far beyond the previous Level 1-6 aviation training devices (ATD)

They are full motion, with 160 degrees of visual, aircraft specific cock-pits with ALL aircraft systems represented.

Unlimited control of atmospheric weather conditions

FAA required "quality checks” performed by FAA. Standards must meet aircraft manufacturers “flight test data."

Is my lodging really included?

YES! During the course, lodging is provided for you at the Parkwood Inn and Suites. Once you book your training dates we will make lodging arrangements for you.

Can I do any of the training in my aircraft? What will it cost me?

We are happy to provide up to 5 hours of local, dual instruction in your Caravan or King Air at NO CHARGE.

When are the courses offered?

For ease of scheduling, all courses are offered weekly.

How do I get to Manhattan, Kansas?

American Eagle offers daily flights between Chicago (ORD) and Dallas (DFW). Also, we are just a short drive from Kansas City International (MCI).

How many pilots will be in my class?

In order to be able to better structure your training to your needs and specific operation, we allow no more than 4 pilots per class.

How much time is spent in the classroom, and how much time will I get in the simulators?

During an initial training course, you will receive a minimum of 12 hours in the classroom instruction and 8 hours of simulator instruction. During a recurrent course, you will receive a minimum of 9 hours of classroom instruction and 6 hours of simulator instruction.

How do I schedule a course?

It’s easy! Just give us a call at (866) 335-1224 and let us know what dates you are interested in. In many cases, we can get you scheduled with as little as a few days advance notice.

I’m not a U.S. resident. Do I have to go through the TSA process?

As we do not provide flight training or deal with pilot certificates or licenses, pilots from foreign countries simply need to apply for a tourist visa to train with us.

What is a normal training day like?

All courses are conducted during normal business hours. We begin at 9:00 a.m. and finish by 5:00 p.m. Classroom sessions are generally conducted in the morning with your simulator time in the afternoon. NO LATE NIGHT SIMULATOR SESSIONS!

What is there to do in Manhattan, Kansas?

As a college and military post town, Manhattan offers a wide variety of activities for you to enjoy when you aren’t training. From sports venues to theater productions and a wide variety of restaurants and nightlife, you won’t be bored! Our new facility is located in Grand Mere Village which is right next to the world-renowned Colbert Hills golf course!
